A Shady eBay Listing

Well, in another unexpected twist in the LeSean McCoy tip story, eBay pulled the listing before it's scheduled end time on Saturday, citing a concern with its authenticity. As a result of the action, the listing link has been redirected to search results similar to "Football NFL Philadelphia Eagles LeSean Shady McCoys 20 cent tip receipt."
Several readers predicted a bad ending for this auction lot - but, I think most just assumed it would be a winning bid no-show. Now we'll have to wait and see whether it shows up on any other outlets in the future...

In a recent development, the receipt at the center of LeSean McCoy's "Tip Controversy" is up for bid on eBay.
The receipt, which has become a major story over the past two weeks, contains the handwritten, "$00.20" tip amount and is signed by the Eagles Running Back. So far, it has attracted plenty of attention from potential buyers - securing 143 bids, totaling $99, 900 (as of 9/18). And, with a few more days until it ends, bids could easily top the $100k mark. The description notes that proceeds will be distributed to employees of the restaurant, promising "to ensure something positive comes out of this somewhat negative action that has recently taken place."
While there is a lot to draw interest of fans and collectors alike, it is hard to imagine the receipt will hold long-lasting value for the buyer. Though, it would look sharp framed and matted with a signed photo...
