Phillies Oddballs - 1980 World Series Board Game
"Major League Baseball Challenge" was a card-based board game produced and released in 1980 by Croquet, LTD. A personalized game was created for each team - featuring unique box and home playing field designs. Being a World Championship season, the Phillies game doubles as both an excellent oddball and a 1980 World Series collectible.
Unlike many of the classic sports games of its time, "Baseball Challenge" is a card-driven game with playing cards for both offensive and defensive outcomes. Far and away, the star of the set is a Veterans Stadium game board. The board features a seating chart-style view of the Vet - complete with section numbers and outlines for the right field scoreboard, the old picnic area and both dugouts. The vibrant colors make it an enjoyable playing surface, and a collectible suitable for framing.
