Auction Watch: Worthridge Auctions, December 2014

Collectors who missed Worthridge Auctions' June auction of The Reggie White Collection are in luck - there were a few more gems held over for their December event.  Sourced directly from the late defensive end's estate, lots up for bid include a mix of game used, autographs and personal items.  Below are a few things Eagles collectors should watch:

1992 NFC Pro Bowl Uniform

A 12-time All-Pro, this uniform originates from Reggie's participation in the 1992 Pro Bowl Game.  White game-used jersey's don't come to market all that often - and I didn't find any record of another sale of one from a Pro Bowl.  Regular season game jersey's have ranged from $2000 - 3000, with a recent auction for a 1994 gamer ending at $1700.

1991 Game-used Cleats

If history tells us anything, this lot could end up being an affordable target.  The June auction included several pairs of game-worn shoes spanning Reggie's career - with most ending in the $400-600 range.  This pair, worn during the Eagles record-setting defensive season of 1991 is likely to garner some attention which may push it to the top end of that range. The shoes have seen a lot of action, and I particularly like the #92 written on the insole of each.  See the lot.

1989 Contract Extension Notice

The letter from former Eagles President, Harry Gamble, served as notice to White that the Eagles were extending his contract for the 1989 season (a pretty easy decision).  It is an interesting look at the NFL's pre-free agency era where power was completely with the club.  He had a pretty sweet deal, too... 1989 called for a 110% increase of his previous season salary, pushing him up to $440k!  See the lot.
