Auction Watch: Wheatland Auctions' June 2014 Sports and Memorabilia

The June 2014 Sports and Memorabilia auction by Wheatland Auction Services is currently open for online bidding, and will conclude with a live auction this Saturday, June 7th.  The event includes 521 lots of sports-related cards and memorabilia - with a heavy emphasis on Philly sports.  I've been building my personal watch list and selected a few solid lots to share...

Lot #106c - Signed 1980 World Series Ball

I am anxious to see where this one ends up... While it lacks some of the key autographs from the 1980 World Championship team, it is an official WS ball with eight signatures including Dallas Green, Greg Luzinski and Garry Maddox.  It is one of those great "starter projects" - where you get a partially signed item and fill it out the rest of the way...

Lot #176 - Box Lot of Ticket Stubs and Schedules

You've probably learned over the years that I love these "box o' stuff" lots - and this one is no exception.  Advertised are tickets, schedules, and most importantly, miscellaneous stuff.  I think I spy a couple interesting pieces in there - and for the right price I'd love to dig through and see what's in that box!

Lot #105 - Ron Hextall Autographed Jersey

Over the past few months I've learned that each month I can expect Wheatland's to have a few quality signed jerseys at a good price.  If there was any doubt, Ron Hextall's return to Philly showed how popular he was and still is in the area.  This jersey comes with JSA authentication, and so far, low bid totals.

Lot #354 - Chase Utley Game Used and Autographed Bat

This 2006 game-used Chase Utley bat shows nice wear - and was signed/inscribed by the Phillies second baseman.  It comes with authenticity from MLB (for use) and BC Collectibles (autograph).  There will be no problem hitting the $300-600 pre-auction estimate that Wheatland assigned.
