Autographed Phillies Team Logo Flag
I once bought a logo flag just like this - with the thought that I would have it signed and framed. Unfortunately, I never got started on the project and the flag sits (unsigned) in my basement. Fortunately, a more motivated collector spent time during the 1980s and 1990s collecting some real gems on this one! 45 autos in total - with many Hall of Famers and team stars included. Update 6/21 - Final bid on the flag was $200. Nothing to sneeze at, but far off the pre-auction estimate of $400-600, or what I thought it might settle at ($350, or so). With so many deceased stars, and guys like Schmidt, Carlton, Rose, Morgan, Allen - you'd be hard-pressed to put a project like this together for $200.
1956 Phillies Drinking Glasses
Really cool, vintage items that you generally see one at a time - this lot offers eight (8) 5.5" drinking glasses with the Phillies logo and facsimile autographs. The 1956 team still had many of the Whiz Kids, so these are good for collectors of that team, or individual players like Ashburn or Roberts. Nice bonus to get the original box/packaging! Update 6/21 - Bidding ended at $184 for this lot of vintage drinking glasses. With buyers premium ($28), that comes to $212, or $26.50/glass. That is a little high for me, but again, the buyer bought a complete set in the original packaging - which is very attractive to collectors.
Vet Stadium Countdown Memorabilia
These were originally hung on the right field wall at Veterans Stadium during its final season (2003) - counting down to the final game at the stadium. Each game a former player (or honoree) removed the number to reveal the next number. Interesting oddball items for collectors of the players, or Veterans Stadium memorabilia. Link to the lot.
Update 6/21 - Closing out at $67, this lot falls right in the middle of two previous sets of banners Hunt has auctioned off recently - Montanez/Hutton $97 in January and Wine/Andersen/Krukow $47 in May. Still like this lot for a collector of Vet Stadium memorabilia.
