Auction Watch: Dueling Victorino TBTC Jerseys

I noticed a familiar set of garments while paging through my copy of Hunt Auctions, June internet/phone auction catalog over the weekend.  Lot #2, 2010 Shane Victorino Turn-Back-The-Clock Game Used Uniform was the second jersey related to the Flyin' Hawaiian's participation in the April 10, 2010 game to come to market next month.  Paragon Auctions is offering a team-issued version (pictured) of the same throwback, ending June 6th.

"Game-used" vs. "team-issued" designation can be tricky.  Game-used means the uniform wear has been personally observed by an MLB Authenticator.  Team-issued, while often truly used, is officially a uniform provided to the player, but usage cannot be confirmed.  And, while it seems like a slight variation, the difference in price for two uniforms belonging to a player like Victorino can be big - like twice or three times as valuable if labeled "used."

The uniform itself is from the "1965" turn-back-the-clock game in Houston against the Astros.  In the style, it is a road gray with the classic script "Phillies" logo across the chest; block numbers on the back and no name.  I don't have record of another jersey from this game being sold by one of the major auction houses - but, in addition to these Victorinos, Hunt has a few others listed, as well.
